Lol! I was away in KL a few days ago. It was my first trip with friends! And we are already planning a 2nd (sort of) one to hk! So ppl, lets all start saving money. On the day of departure, it was World Cup finals, kayan came to my hse to stay over but both of us gave it a miss. I guess we were too sleepy but we managed to watch the repeat in KL. It was quite a boring match but sad that france lost. Anyway, back to my KL Trip, it is a whole new experience with friends. The fun part was just being with them & the stupid things we do. The food is cheap but not exactly nice (except A&W). The things there are comparable to sg except for some cosmetics & 'pasar malam' stuff at Chinatown. However, we had fun being together though over-walking can be unbearable. I think i lost weight through it.

Day 1

7am: We on Grassland Express! hyeio hyeio! Hmm the bus seat was not very comfortable. It gave me back & neck aches.

It was 1.30pm when we reached Federal Hotel & our hotel room was quite big(about twice my bedroom)! I was quite moody after a long bus ride but was recharged after a meal at Plaza Low Yat which sells mainly electronics. We gave that a miss and proceeded to Sungei Wang(Cheaper version of Far East+more variety). Our dear carol bought a wallet within the first few mins of our shopping. I was like 'that's very fast'.

Carol: Can i see that wallet?
Shopkeeper: Yes sure!
Carol flips through the wallet
Carol: Ok! i want this.
-- Done in 5 mins -- lol!

At Sungei Wang. There was a blackout that day. Escalators & air-con weren't working. We grumbled quite a bit. Sungei Wang is so big(consists of 6 storeys). It is linked to BB Plaza too. We wanted to do manicures but couldn't find the shop when we went back!

After shopping for quite sometime, i finally bought something for my bro!! I think it was my happiest buy throughout the trip. Tada~ a bape shirt! I bought a pair of earrings for myself. Hai first day was not productive at all! I had regrets! I should had bought a wallet there.

We had our first dinner along this stretch of 路边摊. It was bustling with activity. The people there were mainly Cantonese. So thanks to kayan! for helping us order the food & most importantly, the bargaining she did for us throughout the trip. I love the sai1 gua1 zhap4 (waterMOLON juice) we had! It was so sweet & that was enough to quench our thirst & bring down the heat. During our meal, there were children selling chewing gums (earning a living). That was rampant in shopping malls too. Sg children are too fortunate!

3 porridges & 1 beef hor fun! Only S$3.50 for my meal!

Day 2

Good Morning! ~ After my Genting Trip, i learnt to be more prepared this time. I brought many panadols, stomachache medicine, medicated oil, eye drops, many instant herbal tea & 2 bananas! On top of that, there were many milk tea, coffee & cereals for all of us. I didnt fall sick this time but shuying did but she was well on the 2nd day! haha but all is not well when sleeping...poor me!!

First nite: Me shuying & kayan shared the king sized bed. Shuying kept tossing & turning. Hence so did i. Shuying kept walking up & down. And so did i. In the end, we slept only 4+ hours tada~ lol! Carol was sleeping like a log on her single bed. hahaha.

2nd nite: I would say 'it was unforgetable'. lol. Since i had little sleep the nite b4, i took the single bed this time. Kayan & I slept earlier than the rest who wanted to play cards. At about 2am, i woke up cos i forgot to brush my teeth. I saw Shuying sleeping on the chair while carol & ky sleeping soundly in bed already. I decided to get sy on her bed (that king size one) after my brush. Here comes the best part. After my brush, i was astonished to find our dear sy on my bed!! I stood there and pondered for quite a while: where should i sleep now?! Oh No!!. lol so i went to tap on sy's shoulders. YA she 'responded' with an eye open & went back to slp!! I was like 又好笑又好气. Anyway, in the end i decided to squeeze the single bed with sy. lol! Next morning, we were laughing all over. Poor me again! And shuying doesnt even know how she rolled to my bed! Now i know: An early bird catches its worm. A late bird steals others' worms!

Shuying! lol! Watch for your bed in hall. I will steal it!

Breakfast time! We had buffet at the Veranda. Here's carol playing with my bananas. lol!

And more bananas..

And more and more bananas + hmm plant?!

Carol, the Lady of Peace. Are u sure?!

Kayan too!

We on the KL Monorail (LRT).

MRT

Our first stop of Day 2: Mid Valley MegaMall. We waited for like 30 mins for the shuttle bus and that pissed us off on a hot weather day. MegaMall is the largest shopping mall in Asia i think. It is about 5XTampines Mall. However, it consists of mainly high-end shops. I only bought a lip gloss from Watsons.

贵妇 no. 1

And more 贵妇s + me the photographer!

After MegaMall, we went to Central Market. What a boring place. And my legs ached! It is really a tourist area, selling malay handicrafts, cloth.. Carol & shuying did hennas there while kayan and i yawned all the way.
We proceeded to Chinatown which was a few streets away from Central Market. That is their must-go 'pasar malam'. Its quite cheap but tends to be very crowded, hot & most of the stalls sell the same things. I bought many things there but mostly not for myself! Argh! Regrets after regrets.. i should have wiped that area for myself.
We were too tired at the end of it hence no pictures taken. aiya..

Suria KLCC - the shopping mall at Petronas Twin Towers. It was a wasted trip there cos the skybridge had closed by then. But we hopped away with doughnuts.

Dunkin' Donuts! Never seen b4 in sg.

We doing stupid things again..

We had our first ride in KL Taxi. They do not run on meters. They just give u a price. Fortunately, i don't think we were conned as most of our rides were within 10 ringgit. Many interesting things discovered: It is cheaper to ride a cab in the morning. Sometimes, they do not drive on roads. They go through alleys. Cars don't park in carparks. They park on pedestrians' pavements! Rides are bumpy & squeezy. Traffic jams are inevitable as there are too many cars on the road(usually 2 lanes only). Traffic police are usually around to direct the traffic even if traffic lights were working. On one of the rides when we were stucked in a jam, the taxi driver asked: 'Singapore traffic police also lidat? (he asked if traffic police needs to direct traffic often). Obviously we said seldom & in fact almost none since there can't be traffic police unless traffic lights are down. The driver was so shocked & insists that they(sg traffic policemen) shouldn't be like that(eat snake) since they are earning tax payers' money. We thought: 'sg traffic lights seldom spoilt, why should policemen stand in the middle of the road and wait to be knocked down by cars'. We were amused with the driver. Also, we saw this interesting sign on one of the cabs. 'Do not throw rubbish out of the car'. We all wondered why would people want to throw rubbish out of the car and not in the car. lol!
